DAIRY NEWS – The Professional Dairy Producers® (PDPW), Wisconsin Towns Association and Wisconsin Counties Association invite the industry and community to join local elected officials, community leaders and dairy farmers for a day of learning and dialogue on February 21, 2017 at the Kalahari Resort in the Wisconsin Dells. The Agricultural Community Engagement® (ACE) Education Seminar begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 3:45 p.m.

The ACE Education Seminar will open with an opportunity to engage with Wisconsin Secretary of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, Ben Brancel, as he shares his insights the upcoming regulations, rural issues and the ever-changing conditions in the state.

Following Secretary Brancel’s update, attendees will learn about satisfying consumer appetites from Charlie Arnot, the CEO of the Center for Food Integrity; discover broadband expansion challenges and opportunities with Angie Dickison, Wisconsin State Broadband Director; and, hear from dairy farmer Ron Brooks and his daughter, Zoey, about their story of conservation, growth and vision for the future.

The meeting will include a panel on Wisconsin water, highlighting high capacity wells and beyond, featuring government relationship, regulatory and local government leaders on critical water issues. Panel members include: Sara Walling, DATCP Nutrient Management and Water Quality Section Chief, Paul Zimmerman, Executive Director of the Governmental Relations with Wisconsin Farm Bureau, and Dan Mahoney, Village of Plover Administrator.

This meeting is part of the ACE partnership, a joint effort of the Wisconsin Towns Association, the Wisconsin Counties Association and PDPW to educate, inform and openly communicate on issues that are important to communities.  Registration can be secured online at pdpw.org.
