PDPW is declaring August Hispanic Training Month - the perfect opportunity for any farm that has Hispanic employees that need the latest information and hands-on training so they can provide quality care for your cows and calves.
This year, PDPW is offering the Obstetrics and Farm Safety Hispanic program at Central Sands Dairy in Nekoosa, and Rosendale Dairy in Pickett, Wis. Simply choose one full day of training for your employees, or bring a different group of employees each day. We promise this program will enhance your Hispanic workers' performance through first-rate show-and-tell and hands-on learning experience.
Dr. Oscar Duarte, DVM, is the ideal trainer for your new and experienced Hispanic employees. Delivered exclusively in Spanish, Dr. Duarte will cover:
• Descriptive protocols for safe and healthy calf deliveries, signs to watch for before, during and after birth and knowing when assistance is needed.
• Various birthing scenarios
• Hands-on calving training in the maternity pens
Every participants will receive animal handling training to ensure worker safety, and will receive certification upon completion.
Employers will receive an additional certificate and workshop training material for the employee's file.
