Chefs throughout Wisconsin are invited to enter the 2010 Wisconsin's Taste of Elegance contest. According to the Wisconsin Pork Association, the contest offers chefs an opportunity to showcase their
culinary skills, while taking a chance at $1,700 in cash prizes.
Participants will be asked to submit their recipe for their original pork entree, a copy of their restaurant's menu, and a resume.
The actual competition will be held on January 28 at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in Wisconsin Dells. The Chef Par Excellence of the 2010 Wisconsin Taste of Elegance will receive $750.
Superior Chef will receive $500, and the Premium Chef will receive $250. A People's Choice award of $250 will also be offered. In addition, the Chef Par Excellence will have the opportunity to represent
Wisconsin at the national level in a contest hosted by the National Pork Board for a grand prize of $5,000 and a three day all expense paid cruise.
The Taste of Elegance is open to all full-time employed chefs from a Wisconsin foodservice establishment. Entry deadline is December 15.
