December Highlight: PDPW Announces December Educational Trainings

DAIRY NEWS –The Professional Dairy Producers® (PDPW) December educational schedule is filled with programs developed to enhance the businesses of dairy farmers and the industry as a whole. The December trainings include: Dairy’s Visible Voice® Media Training, World Class Webinars “Farm & Family Business Transition” and Herdsperson Conference. All PDPW training programs are developed by producers to further the interests of the dairy industry.
The December PDPW educational line-up:
Dairy’s Visible Voice – Social Media Strategy, Thu.. Dec. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., held at Foremost Farms USA, Baraboo, Wis. The training is focused on leadership development through short lectures and hands-on learning opportunities in effective social media outreach and quick-response communication. This second module of the Dairy’s Visible Voice will help attendees understand the importance of a social media presence and how to actively engage a non-agricultural audience. Full Press Release.
World Class Webinars, “Farm & Family Business Transition,” Wed., Dec. 7, online from noon to 1 p.m. CST, Attorney George Twohig of Twohig, Rietbrock, Schneider & Halbach, S.C. will lead this webinar discussing the stages of a farm succession plan and how transition planning can change during the process. Twohig will highlight how to review, reassess and change transfer plans as needed to meet the goals and objectives of multiple generations involved in the business. Registration is due by November 30 and participants can watch the webinar live on the designated date and time, or watch the recorded session at their convenience. Full Press Release.
Herdsperson Conference, is a repeating Conference held in three Wisconsin regions from 9:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Tue., Dec. 6 in Chilton, Wed., Dec. 7 in Eau Claire, and Thu., Dec. 8 in Fennimore. The Herdsperson Conference is designed by a farmer-led committee to equip herd managers and other dairy professionals with the skills and management strategies to operate a successful dairy business in the areas of dry cow facilities, feed and nutrition, reproduction and transition cow and herd health. The agenda line-up will feature four well-known industry experts: Dr. Heather White, University of Wisconsin-Madison; Dr. Richard Pursley, Michigan State University; Dr. Gordon Jones, independent dairy performance consultant and partner at Central Sands Dairy LLC; and Dr. Randy Shaver, University of Wisconsin-Madison. CEUs are available through the UW-SVM and ARPAS.
